Hello,
I absolutely love this website. For school, we did a project called "the conductors assignment". I chose Karajan, as I grew up listening to his recordings, and I loved the music he produced from the orchestra - but I didn't know much more than that. After I finished this project, I realized how much I actually learned from this website. It has helped me quite a great deal...I would just like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I have a very special request: All Karajan fans should contact Deutsche Grammophon and urge them to remaster all of Maestro Von Karajan's analogue recordings --expensive, I know--and reissue them with the original LP covers! Didn't Karajan personally listen to and approve his recordings before release? In my opinion, many of DG's remasterings are simply terrible and not worthy to represent Karajan's recorded legacy. Sincerely, James Paine

Von Karajan had a lot to do with fomenting my love of classical music. Early on, I often would purchase a composition I was unfamiliar with because I was pretty sure I would like it if Von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic were performing it.

A very beautiful website. I appreciated very much a picture of the great conductor with his orchestra and Shostakovich on the stage.
Guess why? I recognized my grandfather on the right.
Find the picture at the following URL (you have to complete it ...)

I may not know much about conductors in general, but I love watching Karajan at his work! He is so full of passion it blows me away.
